A Reverse Mortgage is a loan typically backed by HUD and insured. It does not have to be re-paid until you sell or leave your home. Applicant must be 62 years of age and have a good amount of equity in the home. This loan is perfect for those who live on a reduced income. You can downsize, buy another home (primary residence) and use a Reverse Mortgage.
Upside down? - REFINANCE or SHORT SALE
You can refinance if you have already have an FHA, Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac Loan. If you are 'Upside Down' a 'Short Sale' is An option for anyone whose mortgage is more than the value of their home. There are ways that you can sell your home and turn around and buy another. If you take this option it is important that you stay current on you mortgage payments!!
